According to The Earth Times Website, Simonton Windows®, recently offered employment to all of its hourly employees who were laid off in late 2008 and early 2009. A total of 402 full-time and seasonal employees may be coming back to Simonton's window and door manufacturing locations in West Virginia and Illinois.
Simonton also plans to hire 55 new employees in the same facilities.
Simonton’s Paris, Illinois location laid off 139 employees late 2008 and early 2009. These employees have also been asked to come back to work, and Simonton plans to fill 30 new positions at this location.
Furthermore, 263 employees were laid off in late 2008 and early 2009 from Simonton’s West Virginia facilites facilitiesy 2009. Those in good standing have been offered to come back to work. These facilites are likely to fill 25 additional positions by September.
The Earth Times Website also reports that Mark Savan, President of Simonton Windows, says business has improved during the summer, allowing the company to bring back former employees and to hire new ones. ”
All Simonton products ordered within its Energy Tax Credit (ETC) glass packages are certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC). They have a U-factor and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.30 or less. These ratings were set forth by the U.S. government as a requirement for the energy tax credit.
